I’ve confirmed that third-party sharing is enabled. I have also verified that I can import the E*Trade from Morgan Stanley tax document on a Windows laptop. However, I can’t import it into TurboTax Desktop on a Macbook Pro laptop. I’m a Mac user, and I need to do my taxes on my Mac, which contains my previous years’ tax files. Can the TurboTax team please fix this issue?
Here is the issue:
After entering my username and password, the app loads for a few seconds at “Establishing Secure Connection” and then disappears—no error messages appear.

One thing I had to do on the Morgan Stanley side was disable and reenable Third Party sharing under Security Settings to solve one import issue I am having. Thank you to the MS help desk. Also may want to follow the "2024 Tax Year import from Morgan Stanley tries to connect then just beeps. No errors, no import" thread; many more people in this boat. I was able to import once (my date), but unable to import a second time (wife's) data from Morgan Stanley.
Disabling and re-enabling Third-Party Sharing doesn’t work for me.
Sorry to hear that. Have you tried the online version. It is free until you file. It imported multiple times, for different users, to the same file, from MS . I imported my old 2023 data, imported my MS information, I then export the online file to my desktop, and cleared the online version; then completed my return on the desktop. The Tax Tools > Tools dropdown has many file type functions. Not sure where you are in your tax filing journey, but it is a work around.
