I have several 1099-B entries with the "date acquired" listed as "various". TurboTax Smart Check keeps stating that I need to add to a "date acquired" date for these entities, but no matter how many times I try to do so it just keeps kicking me back to the same entry. I've already paid to file and also tried to manually enter the values with no luck. This is ridiculous that I have to pay an arm and a leg for this service and still have to manually enter data that is correctly reported. Unless TurboTax is able to fix this I'll def be looking for a full refund and would suggest others do the same

There is a procedure for entering Various into you investment transactions.
I've already tried that, it doesn't work. It still pops up as an item to correct at the "Review" page. And at that point what am I even paying for? So my extra money spent on the Premier version went to nothing while I have to manually import and edit every line item that I paid for your service to do?
@JohnB5677 has there been another update for this error. Tried all steps suggested with no success
Happening for me too
When you get the Check Entry error asking for Date Acquired, enter the date in the box, at the top left of your screen, not in the form. Then Click Continue. Once you do this for each entry that has an error, it will no longer give you that "Date Acquired" error.
No, I have the same problem and you're missing what he's saying. The box pops up to enter dates that have already been imported on the 1099-B and are correct. When you type the date in the "date acquired" box, the screen just refreshes and pops the same screen up again with the same "date acquired" box. You can't get past this screen. The program won't accept dates entered into the "date acquired" box.
I have the same problem, did you find a work around or did you have to manually enter. I called TT help line and they said they were aware of the issue, but were of no help and offered no solutions other than to delete my 1099B???
It worked for me after waiting for it to load and then scrolling down and entering in the proper date. On my laptop though
Same issue here as well. It keeps kicking me back to re-enter date acquired. According to the 1099b form on screen, everything is filled in accurately.
Let's get this fixed please, as I've already paid as well.
Just solved this error for a customer. Went back to the sale itself in Wages and Income. Changed date acquired to something other bullet and entered Various in the drop down menu. Went back to review and got the error then entered the date acquired in the error box only. This corrected the error and customer was able to efile.
I tried @taxesforalf solution, but it didn't work for me. I originally imported into Turbo Tax from my broker, but for me to get it to work I had to input my form manually. Instead of itemizing the entries, I used the totals and uploaded the tax forms from my broker.
I hope that helps anybody else experiencing this issue.
It is unfortunate at these price points there isn't better support. I've usually had great experiences using Turbo Tax, but this being my first bad experience and the lack of support has me for the first time considering alternatives for future tax years.
I cannot proceed. I have correctly entered my 1099 B, checked the "Various" box individually on the problematic 1099B entry but I am still unable to efile. I get an eternal loading window upon trying to "correct" the error that has already been corrected on my form. Please fix your website, I have already paid you over 100.00 for your product that is not working. I will be requesting a full refund if this is not resolved within a week.
I'm having the same issue. I went back in and selected various for the dates and nothing. it still makes me do that and never accepts the date. it's been like this for several weeks. I read where there was supposed to be an update so i waited. I even went back in and manually entered everything. still saying the same crap. I don't like H&R block at all but im about to go file online with them if this crap isn't fixed soon.
Followed your steps exactly and still no dice. It's still asking me for the date acquired. Disappointing as I've been a long time customer with zero issues until this.
