TurboTax will let you know your return is ready to mail by
giving you a message “Ready to Mail.” You have to print it, sign it, and mail
it yourself. When you mail a tax return,
you need to sign it on the bottom of the page where it says "Sign
Here" and write in the date you signed it by the word "Date". Attach copies of your W-2 and any other
documents that show taxes withheld to the left side of the papers where it says
"Attach Forms..."
When you print your return, it will print with filing
instructions that tell you where to mail it.
You can print your
return by following the instructions below:
1.
Sign in to your TurboTax Online return.
2.
Select
File and you’ll get to the [Your name], just (…) more steps and we'll file your
returns screen.
3.
Complete
Steps 1 and 2 if you haven’t already done so, then select Start next to Step 3.
4.
On the Let’s get ready to e-file screen, select
File by mail, then on the pop-up screen make sure you select File by mail for
federal and all of your states.

If the File by mail option isn’t available, you
probably previously selected to pay your TurboTax fees through your tax refund.
In order to file by mail, you’ll need to pay with a credit or debit card (or
use the Free Edition of TurboTax).
5.
Once you have changed your payment method to
credit or debit card, follow the onscreen instructions to print your return.
It is not required,
but is a good idea, to use a mailing service that will track your return or
provide you with a receipt showing that the IRS got it--such as FedEx, UPS, or
certified mail.
It will take about 4 weeks and then you can track the status
of your return at the IRS website.
