TurboTax Premier Crashes on MacOS Catalina 10.15.3 (stack trace attached)

The whole thing is absurd.  Intut has been notoriously negligent of Mac users in the past.  I thought this might possibly be changing, but guess not.  I hate to change from Quicken and TurboTax, but that may be the easiest solution at this point.

What does Quicken have to do with it?    Quicken has been owned by H.I.G Capital for several years and has nothing to do with TurboTax or Intuit

I ran into the same problem. Sat with customer support for a few hours. It comes down to doing a deep clean of the installed TT and re-installing. For that, customer service suggested https://freemacsoft.net/appcleaner/ which worked out really well. Just remember to only delete files related to affected year and not the old year's turbotax. Then go ahead and re-install.

When it opened, there was a window saying a snag was hit, as recommended elsewhere, I ignored that window and did NOT press send, as was suggested elsewhere. Everything is working fine for now.

That is because there is another (new) file that needs to be deleted that TurboTax has not added to the uninstall FAQ that I have been asking them to add since last June that will caused crashes if not removed with the uninstall.

Also if present remove: ~Library/Caches/KSCrash/TurboTax

Thank you, @macuser_22! That error window was driving me crazy. Removing ~Library/Caches/KSCrash/TurboTax per your instructions fixed it immediately.

Yes.  That is a file that was first created by TurboTax 2019 that is part of crash reporting, but if not removed will cause crashes of it's own.      I have  been asking TT for almost a year to include that file in the FAQ.

I'm new to this situation, just had a crash and came looking for info and found this thread. After my crash, I re-opened TT, which had an update requirement (which I did) and the "oops we hit a snag" pop-up  (yes I clicked report it) and when I finally got TT open again my return was gone. I had the Welcome Let's get started screen.

OMG I am furious --

1) any way to find my half done return?

*** UPDATE ***   I searched my computer (This Mac) for .tax files and found "unsaved turbotax document .tax2020" and clicked it and it loaded up in a new TT window. So now my question is:

2) what steps should I take so this doesn't happen again? How should I save my work before I follow those steps?

You can see if you can open the last worked return from the 'Open Recent' under File menu.

To answer your Qn. 2, its always a good practice to save frequently while working on the returns.

As for the issue itself, Intuit is yet to fix the issue or whatever cookie they have in the registry is not removed and as such I keep getting this error whenever I open the TT. This was reported by me during last year return filing working on TT-2019 but I still see it in TT-2020 version also. What I do now-a-days is just close the window and do't click on Report it.

Thank you. I did read many comments that said not to click on the "we hit a snag" box to report the issue. But, I'm concerned about the larger issue of the crashing... I saw a lot of comments about uninstalling TT and deleting files etc and re-downloading TT so it stops crashing, and if that is necessary I'm looking for steps/instructions on how to do that.

@macuser_22  can you help?

Corruption could have occurred in the Application or in an associated preference or support file.

The best remedy is to totally uninstall TurboTax and all associate files and then re-install. That will not delete or change any .tax2020 data file that had already been created with the tax data.

To uninstall the application and all associated files need to be deleted and then the application reinstalled. If there was a state then the state must also be reinstalled.

To remove TurboTax from your computer, you'll need administrative rights.
