Turbotax opens to registration page to sign up for advertisements instead of opening to last file

Hello,

Having a few issues with Turbotax, every time it opens, I get a Registration page, unsure why. I assumed it would only show the first time, but it shows every time. There is no button to skip, or say 'never remind me again'

It mentioned something about signing the user up for advertisements..... this is not what I want. 

What I would expect to happen, is have Turbotax open straight to the last page or file I had open, or some sort of welcome screen that asks what I want to do.

Another problem, wonder if it's related: every single time it opens, it wants me to update, but it never updates, just says I am already up to date, why?

How can I fix these issues with this product?

You don't. If it's not working as you want, maybe this product isn't for you.

I think you're right. Silly me, I thought it was for tax purposes, not advertising.

I used to never fill out the registration screen.  But I finally got tired of it so I filled it out.  I never get any advertisements or anything.  I assume it's so they can notify me if there is a problem with the program.  

 I opened an older program to see the registration screen. At the top it says to keep you up to date with tax law changes.   At the bottom it says we will not rent, sell or share your personal information with anyone outside of Intuit for their marketing use.  And there is a link if you do not want to receive marketing materials.
