I have attempted to upload a 1099-R from Fidelity Investments to my tax return and have received the following message over the course of the past 24 hours:
"Something unexpected happened and we can’t connect to Fidelity Investments.
Try again in a few hours. (580)"
Can someone at Turbo Tax advise when this will be fixed?
Thank you.

You are probably trying to import too soon. Usually financial institutions have the information online for you to view or print earlier than they have it ready for importing into the tax software. It is often about mid-February before you can import 1099R's, 1099B's , etc.
Either wait until tomorrow

(again provided Fidelity has yoru stuff....Fidelity tells me I have to wait until after 11 FEB for the stuff my account holds). If using a Windows computer...make sure you are using the Edge browser.
Re: Fidelity Investment import not working. (intuit.com)
I'm having the exact same issue. This is very frustrating.
If it's just a 1099-R that needs to be uploaded, just enter the information manually. If it's something more than a 1099-R, such as a 1099-B, ensure that the 1099-B is available. Additionally, you will probably have to allow third party access to your Fidelity account before TurboTax will be able to upload any Fidelity documents.
@timid88
As of March 2, 2023 Turbotax CD Premier still not importing tax statements from Fidelity,. Spent all afternoon rebooting, calling Fidelity, calling TurboTax. Now have a work ticket to be called in 24 hours. Not HAPPY. Wasted Day.
For me, the Turbotax says there are no tax forms from Fidelity Investment!
I guess it's Fidelity issue. Not sure!
Tried a few times, and today, March 7, 2023. Turbotax says there are no tax forms from Fidelity Investment! something somewhere sucks!
@wenjiecao You may be stuck entering the data manually from yoru paper/PDF tax forms you downloaded separately from your account.
(Make sure you do not select the NetBenefits selection.......if you select that, then there actually may not be an import file in there. My 1099-R forms in the separate NetBenefits area have never been importable)
I waited until the Fidelity tax information was finalized near the end of February. 2023.
There were two entries for auto-download of Fidelity account information for taxes. We imported from both as we have several accounts at Fidelity - taxable, IRA and Roth IRA accounts, and deferred compensation from spouse's deferred compensation account.
In the past, we did see that type of error a few times, typically over the weekend when systems were being updated.
Please review the proposed solution regarding screen resolution in this thread.
Not that it matters a year later, but I've been using Fidelity and TurboTzx for years and the import feature NEVER works. On years where it would import, the data was all wrong. Most years including this one (Feb 2024) it lets me sign into Fidelity, says it's successful and to return to TurboTax and there is NOTHING there. It's like the import didn't bring anything back and YES I have looked into Fidelity and all forms are available and I've downloaded all of them manually. This has been the case since I started using TurboTzx.
No it’s not fidelity issue it’s a TurboTaxbissue.
ehhh..could be either.
We've had a lot of reports indicating that their Brave browser had a firewall setting that was blocking the import....and as soon as they turned it down (or off, not sure which) the Fidelity stuff came thru.
