Turbotax Just Not Helpful

Sadly, after many years I will not be using Turbotax again.

All businesses are there to make money but when a service business is actively gaming you to get much money as they can from you then they are no longer serving you.

A tax software should do the heavy lifting, not ask you questions it already has the answers to because it has last years tax info already loaded: like what was last years tax refund or whether you took the standard deduction or not.

The original purpose of tax prep software was so that you could do your own taxes cheaply and not pay an accountant or tax preparer.  Now Turbotax is pushing you to pay extra for their tax preparer even though you bought the tax prep software so you would not need to do that!!  Why would you pay that extra? If the tax prep software was so unhelpful and confusing that you could not do your taxes on your own-which is what tax prep software is supposed to to enable you to do!  Intuit has essentially made their product useless.

You're correct and you're better off having your returns professionaly prepared.
