TurboTax is assuming I worked as an indep. contractor in 2016 even though that was only in 2015. It won't let me proceed without an upgrade even though I don't need it.

Since this job is not relevant to 2016, how can I delete this source of income?

To delete the Form 1099-MISC in the TurboTax online version:

1.  Sign into your account, select Take me to my return

2.  Select My Account (top of screen)click on the drop down arrow

3.  Select Tools

4.  Under Other helpful links, choose Delete a form

5.  Select Delete next to the form 1099-MISC worksheet and Continue with My Return

If you are self employed and received a Form 1099-MISC, you might also want to delete the Schedule C from the list to remove ALL information related to the form.
