I suspect I am missing something simple here but when I go to download our Vanguard 1099-Rs in TurboTax I am asked by TurboTax for the "Account Number" and "Document ID" on the Vanguard 1099-R. I did this for our taxable brokerage accounts without issue, but the Vanguard 1099-Rs we have do not have a clearly stated "Account Number" or "Document ID".
What am I missing here?

Do you have the actual 1099R or download the pdf? I have both on my Vanguard 1099R. In the upper right, right under the OMB No. 1545-0119 it has
Date: 01/10/2025 Document ID: Fxxxxxxxxx
Account number: 6xxxxxxxx
Log into your Vanguard acct and download a new pdf.
I downloaded the pdf today--no account number or document ID. It's for a rollover from a 401(k) to an IRA, which is a reportable event (I'm 99% sure). I can always enter it manually, but I hate doing that.
Is your 401K at Vanguard too? What code is in box 7? It should be just as easy or easier to manually enter the 1099R.
G for the traditional, H for the Roth.
And yes, both are at Vanguard.
I can enter manually, but when something doesn't work the way I think it should, it makes wonder whether I'm missing something.
I think I figured it out. These 1099-Rs are from rollovers from a Vanguard solo 401(k) to Vanguard IRAs. Vanguard must not be supporting downloads for the their solo 401(k) 1099-Rs for 2024--given that Vanguard is now out of the solo 401(k) business.
