I'm using an iMac, Mojave OS 10.14.
My printer has toner and works OK for other documents but when asking it to print a return for filing, I get a message that TurboTax can't communicate with the printing server. I can't export as a PDF either.
What could be the cause? How to fix?

Update your system drivers for your printer. Remove Adobe Reader DC and reinstall it. One of those should fix the problems.
I updated my Adobe Acrobat Reader and that solved my issue.
