TurboTax credit card payment does not show total

Why does TurboTax not provide a total of what will be billed to your credit card before processing the payment?

Somehow I was signed up for Premier and not Deluxe.   I don't remember upgrading.  In any account, I thought I was only going to pay $40.    However, when I entered my credit card and billing information, it processed my card for the $70 Premier package without any indication of what the charge would be (to include taxes).   Every other online billing site tells you the total and asks you to verify before hitting the "submit" button.

Now I paid $30 more than I intended (or needed) for my simple tax return.   And once your credit card has been charged, there is no refund or adjustments.

For the time it took me to get in contact with a representative to discuss this, I could have started from scratch and selected the product I wanted.   TurboTax has lost a long time customer.   I'll be using other tax preparation services, or even use the free IRS services from now on.

Please contact phone support.  They will be able to check and see if you can get a refund.  Refer to the following TurboTax FAQ for the contact number:  What is the TurboTax phone number? - Community

TurboTax credit card payment does not show total

Thank you.  I did contact the phone support, and someone called me back about an hour later.  She was very courteous, and checked my return to see if TurboTax had automatically upgraded me from Deluxe to Premier because of my tax situation.  However, my return was basic, so that was not it.  I don't remember making any selection to upgrade the package.  It's possible, but I just don't remember, and never intended to get the updraded package.   The rep sent me an email about an hour later that stated they would not be able to refund the difference.

What really upsets me is I had no idea I was on the "Premier" package, and I had no idea that I was going to be charged $70 (instead of $40), and when I entered my credit card information, TurboTax processed it immediately.  There was no page indicating what my total would be, and then approve the processing.  Every other payment website provides a total (to include sales tax) and asks you to verify the amount before the card is charged.
