Turbotax 2022 can not automatically calculate excess social security tax for two employers. Looks like there is a bug in it. As TT 2021 could do that. I had two W2 forms; one withheld maximum SS tax and the second one withheld RRTA tier 1 tax which is excess. TT doesn't put anything on line 11 of schedule 3.

This experience is not usual in TurboTax. Try using the information below to see if it populates as it should. First double check the maximum earnings subject to social security tax below.
In your situation, first clear your cache and cookies. It handles many issues that seem nonsensical on a regular basis.
Once this is complete open your return and select to enter your income.
Excess social security and Tier 1 RRTA tax withheld means that you overpaid on the amount of Social Security from your paychecks. This usually occurs when you change jobs or work multiple jobs. Look at box 3 from your W-2s. If they add up to more than $147,000, then you overpaid and it will be credited to you on your tax return.
Thanks for your reply. Maybe I didn't make it clear that I'm using TurboTax Premier on my windows 11 computer, so I'm not sure what you said will work for me as you suggested that I clear the cache and cookies which sounds like a browser issue. The box 3 from my first W-2 shows exactly $147,000, and box 14 on my second W2 shows RRTA tier 1 tax withheld which is equivalent of SS tax so it is excess SS tax.
I konw my situation is unusual but TT should cover it. Otherwise I have to manually input the excess SS tax on line 11 of schedule 3.
If you would be willing to provide a diagnostic copy of your tax file, we can take a closer look and try to explain what is happening in your return with regard to the excess withholding not being automatically refunded.
The diagnostic file will not contain personally identifiable information, only numbers related to your tax forms. If you would like to provide us with the diagnostic file, follow the instructions below and post the token number along with which version of TurboTax you are using in a follow-up thread.

Someone else had this problem.....
But I "think" the correction was that for the RR W-2, they did not have their RR Retirment wages categorized as such properly in box 14 ( either not in the right category, or not entered at all in box 14 and needed to be put in there)
It's not the category issue for RR W2. I put numbers with right category on box 14 correctly as the software shows the drop down list to select as RRTA tier 1 tax. I still think it's a bug in TT 2022 premier, because last year I used TT premier 2021 that could automatically calculate the excess SS tax refund with the RR W2 form.
Anyway as the tax due date is coming soon, I manually input the excess amount on line11 of schedule 3.
I used the downloaded TT software.
