TurboTax 2024 won't open today.

I have filled in everything on my tax return and tried to open TT today for final review and submission. It will not open. Desktop version.

I've tried restarting the computer, no joy. I've spent a lot of time trying to find tech support, no luck there either. I'm feeling pretty desperate.

Here's some things to try:

Then restart your computer and try opening TurboTax.

Here's more for when TurboTax won't open:

Right-click your taskbar and select Task manager.

Look for Intuit update service in the process tab and end process.
Look for MSIexec.exe in the Details tab and end process.
Install/update Turbotax again.

If that didn't work, try one of these options:

Run the Windows System File Checker, then try installing/updating again.

Re-register Windows Installer:

Select Start > Run.
Type MSIEXEC /UNREGISTER and select OK (it'll look like nothing happened).
Repeat step 1 and type MSIEXEC /REGSERVER.
Install/update TurboTax again.

Start the Windows Installer Service:

Select Start, type Services.msc in the search box and press the Enter key.
Scroll down and open Windows Installer.
Select Manual as the Startup type.
Select Start and then OK.
Install/update TurboTax again.
