TurboTax 2024-2025 new Windows systems requirements specifically (Snapdragon X ARM computers

In light of the new "+ Copilot" (Intel/Snapdragon) computers coming out I am wondering if TurboTax is writing its software to run on both the standard Intel x86 (64-bit) AND the new Snapdragon ARM architecture?

ARM CPUs, which have in the past been available primarily in tablets & phones, are now more mainstream - think Apple M4, Google Tensor, NVIDIA Grace, and now Snapdragon X.  Leveraging a Reduced Instruction Set List (RISC) architecture these systems are highly optimized for efficiency, however one of the biggest challenges remain the slow Software adoption compared to standard x86 (64-bit) architecture for Intel Core / AMD Ryzen CPUs.  Current "work-around" is a x86 emulator, but can not be considered a long time or reliable fix.  I know this is something the Intuit's Software team has already anticipated and is most likely addressing. 

With 10 months until the next US Tax Day,  answering the question of  will TurboTax 2024-2025 be able to run on new Snapdragon X computers will allow TurboTax clients to make choices in how they upgrade their personal computers as well as giving more clarity to the annual desktop vs on-line debate.

Do you know this for a fact or is you statement more speculative?

I am not an Intuit employee, but I've been involved with TurboTax (primarily via this board) and it appears to me that they would prefer customers to use online solutions as opposed to installed software solutions. 

For example, despite years and years' worth of pleas for Intuit to develop a Mac version of TurboTax Business, Intuit not only did not do so but, rather, offered online solutions for Forms 1065 and 1120-S. 

Ultimately, my impression is that installed. standalone, software will essentially go extinct and be replaced with online solutions and perhaps other installed solutions, such as Click-to-Run technology.

This exact problem will impact our family because my mother insists on the software. Arm is only becoming more popular. If there’s a way to get clarity on compatibility very soon, our household would very much appreciate it.

I  am not an Intuit employee but have been a long time Turbo Tax user (80's); I admit that I am not an Apple person & will defer to you and your experience with Intuit.

With respect to non-Apple computer hardware, there has been a push from Microsoft since 2021 for individuals to upgrade their CPU to newer generation which utilize Trusted Platform Module and enhanced encryption which improve the PC security.

I agree that Intuit, like most software/IT companies, would prefer clients/customers use on-line options.  While version control and access to additional user experiences are positive, I - like many I would surmise - prefer to have as much control over my data as possible.  I also agree that more and more companies will drag everyone "into the matrix" before too long.

User @onoahu  tagged on a comment in this older post....and did indicate that TTX desktop 2023 did work with the Snapdragon processor on a Surface laptop.   ( https://ttlc.intuit.com/community/taxes/discussion/re-are-turbo-tax-downloads-compatible-for-a-surfa... )

But, indicated some compatibility settings were required to get it to read/write with his files.

"Once I changed the emulation compatibility mode to strict and the file save/load seems to work fine."

FYI ...

Just downloaded TT desktop deluxe 2024 and TT business 2024.

They both installed fine on MS surface pro 11 on snapdragon X 10 core processor running Windows Home 11 that i just bought this month.

I do run it in "safe" compatability mode you can set on the properties tab when you right click the TT shortcut that gets created in the desktop.

I don't know if you absolutely need to do that but I did have issues when testing on TT 2023 so kept it on.
