I finished our federal taxes (MFJ) last week but haven't efiled yet since I need to discuss with spouse whether we should take refund as I bonds or direct deposit. Trying to use one of my 5 returns allowed (only 1 can be efiled) for our college student. It goes to a blank screen when you hit Update Wages and Income. Doesn't matter if you got there from "Walk me through everything" "I'll choose what I want to work on" or (in desperation tried) Search W-2 and clicking on Jump to W-2. Tech support thinks it may be something with our firewall or antivirus - after they had me uninstall, try to reinstall from CD (which it spun up but never opened!) and finally they sent me a download.
Has anyone got a workaround to actually enter a W-2?

Actually, we are Tax Experts in this forum, so defer to Tech Support for your type of issue.
Did Tech Support suggest disabling your anti-virus while using TurboTax?
Can you make entries directly on the W-2 Form in FORMS mode?
Or, if you can't resolve this, have you considered using TurboTax Online for your college student's return?
I don't want to pay for TT Online for her minimal income when I have 5 returns allowed on the software that I bought, and was just going to use the software interview process to get her familiar with how to file taxes before she tried the IRS's fillable forms.
There IS no place to enter W-2 information today - no blank W-2 form to edit or even a 1040 form to enter income on line 1 showing under Forms. Only the form with her personal information and the beginning of a form showing she's a student (since we got past that question early on).
I'm not sure what's going on, but let's take this step by step and you can indicate where you loose the screen.
You are in the Desktop/CD version of TurboTax
Phase 1
Phase II

I didn't see a difference after turning the built-in firewall and antivirus in Windows off, but I did find that I could click Open Form and look for W-2 there! She was able to enter her two W-2s then we tried a 1099-INT and put that in. Saved, turned the protection back on, and we will see if we can print. Next will be trying to e-file our own form.
It was my dependent child's 1040 we were trying to do, not required to file so didn't do it under ours, but she wants the tax withheld back. As I explained in a reply to myself just now, the step-by-step survey wasn't working, neither was Jump to W-2 but I was able to get to where she could fill in W-2 information by using the Open Form button on the top left when we were looking at Forms view.
