This issue is still not fixed. Today is the day Turbotax allows you to file 8962 but it is still wrong. When will this be fixed? very frustrating.... thanks angela
I agree, I'm seeing the same thing, I've checked both the Mac and Windows version too. I called support, they didn't know but said they'd file a notice to have it looked at (whatever that means). I'd suggest others call support too
ESTIMATED date for the form was today however it could come in the update later today or be postponed to another day as it often happens. Since the IRS will not start processing returns until 1/23 you have time to wait for the fix to happen. Patience is a vitue and is necessary in all things tax related.
It appears Form 8962 may still not be correct in Turbo Tax. I updated Turbo Tax on 1/12/2023. However, it still appears numbers are not carried forward from the 1095-A form (Columns A & B) to Form 8962. Although my household income is greater than 401% of the poverty line, I should still qualify for the Premium Tax Credit per the IRS instructions for 2022.
Are others experiencing a similar issue?
Its Jan 19th 12th 2023 (Edit: Sorry, its the 12th, but TurboTax has it as final today. I will wait a few hours. I need to do estimated taxes and this is a frustrating delay.) and the 8962 is STILL not calculating line 11 correctly. If you make over 400% of poverty level TurboTax 2022 thinks you have to pay all of the advance premium tax credit back. Using TurboTax 2021, the 8.5% of SLCSP is computed and then used to fill line 11 - block E. That figure is subtracted from the total annual premium amount and that difference is brought over to Schedule 2 line 2 as excess advance premium tax credit to be paid back. it is not the full amount of the annual premium. The subsidy cliff was eliminated until 2025. Come on TurboTax! This is still broken.
My calandar says it is 1/12 not the 19th and the estimated dates are just that "estimates" and the day is not over yet and Intuit is a west coast based company so they may not issue updates until much later in the day if the techs are still working on them. Once again patience is needed ... try back again tomorrow or next week.
Yea, thanks, I noticed I jumped the gun on the date, but I was really expecting this form.
I got updates using the online updater and the form no longer says "DO NOT FILE" in red....
Exactly, that's what prompted me to call turbo tax support - they no longer indicate the form is not final, which implies they think it is, which makes me think they are not aware of the bug...
Again, the issue, IMO, is simple: 8962 line 11 is not properly transferring values from 1095a - and because of this the resulting calculations are incorrect.
The bug still exists even after the form has been updated today (DO NOT FILE is gone). It doesn't fill in values from form 1095-A 33A and 33B. When will this be fixed?
Agree. The form appears to be final, and you can use it to file (????!!)
I'm going to call support in 3 hrs, as they are on the West Coast. Also, the forms availability page has todays date for the form, but there is still a grey clock (not a green checkmark) on it.
Using TurboTax 2021 got me a pretty good estimate, but I cant transfer or edit the 2022 form. I will have
to use that in my estimate if this doesn't get fixed in a few days.
Hopefully this will get fixed quickly. I have been calling about it for over a month and it just seems to go nowhere. I was sure that it would be fixed by today (since you can file it today according to the forms update notes) As everyone stated, it works in 2021 so should be an easy fix for 2022 through 2025. thanks for reaching out to them. Good luck.
PATIENCE ... everyone needs to take a deep breath. They can only fix what they can in the time they have ... all of the program will eventually be functional. Again the IRS will not start processing any returns prior to the end of the month so don't be in a rush. Every year the IRS has issues with millions of early filiers because their system also has bugs to be fixed and a couple of years ago many early filers got lost in the system for months. Don't be a fool and volunteer to beta test their system ... the early bird doesn't always get the worm, sometimes they just find empty holes.
I'm happy to be patient but they currently indicate the form is done. As such, why should I believe they'll fix it eventually unless someone raises the concern?
I see the same problem and I agree, it looks like they think it's fixed. I hope they have an update with a fix soon.
I agree with the preceding comments from today. TurboTax indicated previously that the form would be final today and it previously carried a "do not file" label. Today that label has been removed and so the software implies that the form is final. However, it does not transfer the information from Form 1095-A as also noted previously and clearly should not be considered to be final. If a person is looking to prepare an estimated value, an earlier suggestion to use the 2021 TurboTax program is a good one. Otherwise, we need to let TurboTax have an opportunity to further update this form. Hopefully, it will happen soon.
