Turbotax 2019 (mac) keeps crashing upon loading

I spent many hours entering and double-checking the information entered into Turbotax 2019 (mac, premier version).  The program crashed.  I tried to re-open the saved return and it just says "Oh dear.  TurboTax ran into a problem and has to shut down."   The error message couldn't be any more specific.  Is there any way to fix this other than starting over?

Did you purchase  a download from TurboTax?     If so, I would delete everything and download a fresh copy as the download or support file might have gotten corrupted.

If you installed it then remove the files as explained in the article.

If there was a state then the state must also be reinstalled.
