turbo tax update for windows sits idle at 5 min remaining

since installing TT 2023 for desktop I have not been able to update the software,  I have my taxes completed but it will not let me continue and submit to IRS  until I do an update.  The updater when clicked on is just idlewith 5 min remaining..  No progress ever.  Ive used this same computer for the last 4 tax returns and no problem.  I do not use any virus software  Any suggestions?
