When you installed the 2023 TurboTax software, is it the same computer where you completed the 2022 tax return using the 2022 TurboTax software?
Hello this is a great questions.
I have a few thoughts on this.
IRS account to view transcript, set up payment plan and make estimates Once you create your account, go to Tax Records, Get Transcripts, put in a reason, GO. Then you will see all of your return transcripts. You can also set up a payment plan, and make estimated payments with your IRS account.
Look to see if you have a return transcript for 2022. If you do not, then you probably didn't file your return.
It is probably best to call into Turbo Tax and have one of our experts help you find this account/return. They might be able to help you see if you efiled a return.
Please give me a thumbs up if this was helpful.

When you start a New Tax Return using the TurboTax 2023 desktop editions and there is not a 2022 tax return to transfer to the 2023 return, click on the link Browse
The 2022 tax return has a file extension of .tax2022. You will need to find the 2022 tax data file on your computer or wherever you requested to save the 2022 return. Use the Search function on your computer.
When you save a tax return using the TurboTax desktop editions, all tax data files and saved PDF's are stored, by default, in the TurboTax folder within the Documents directory. Unless the user requested to store those files in an alternate location.
