Software glitch. Turbo Tax will not let me efile my California return until I correct a form 565.
This form is generated by a K1. But their are no K1's on either Fed or State return.
There is no form 565 listed in View / Forms.
There is no form 565 listed in print / forms.
So how do i work around this software glitch and efile.
I can not correct nor delete a form that does not exist.
After MainMenu=>View=>Forms
Can you post a screenshot of what you see when you search for "565" after the you press "Open Forms"?
OR
a screenshot of what you see when you press "Error"?
NOTE: Please delete from the screenshot any personal information!!
Sometimes in TT, if I have accidentally entered into a section and then did not enter anything in that section, TT generates forms (all blank) but it triggers errors that certain required boxes are not filled. I have to go back and delete the forms.
Thanks for your reply. A screen shot is waste of time. I assure you that under View / Forms, form 565 (for reported K1's) does not exist in state forms. It does not exist in Print Forms. There are no K1's entered in either Federal or State returns. I have no K1's.
Yes, as you point out, sometimes the software does produce forms that should not appear. Unusually you can find them and them delete them - or enter a bunch of zeros - or enter some nonsense to obviate them.
But when the forms do not exist in the program - and you can not Efile without correcting some phantom errors
there is a serious software problem in Turbo Tax Premier 2021. And I was charged $$ for this California state
I have been using Turbo Tax and Quicken for over 5 years. A good company would admit to this obvoius defect and solve the problem rapidly or refund my money.
Suggestions?
Ok. Understood. Unfortunately, I'm just another customer. TT is far from perfect. In my experience, most errors seem to come in the state filings. I search the all-knowing google for TT problems with CA form 565. I did find a few where people with K1's did not get their returns accepted. I also found several with mortgage/1098 errors.
Have you asked an "expert" directly? Find them in the "meet your expert" panel....
I did not realize you were just another customer. Thank makes your efforts here meriting a bigger THANK YOU.
I will follow up on your suggestion with the 'experts; although I do not anticipate good results because this si really a software problem - not a tax expert problem.
I wonder whether if the powers that be at Intuit monitor this forum - or if they even care?
