Turbo tax shows my efile for federal was ACCEPTED, but on IRS website shows the tax return has not been processed and therefore I cannot make a payment. What should I do?

You can make your 2022 tax payment before the IRS has processed your return. Please try the below steps:

• Go to the IRS website by clicking here.
• Click on Sign in to Your Account on the next page and click the blue Sign in to your Online Account. 
• If you don't have an IRS account/ID Me account, you can create one on this page. 
• Once you are in your account, next click the blue Make Payment button
• Then you will see your payment options, select Pay 2022 Income Tax - Make a payment toward the expected income tax using your 2022 Form 1040 tax return and follow the prompts from there.
