You are entering summary information from an IRS form 1099-B or IRS form 8949 instead of each individual transaction.

When printing the tax return, only long-term investments are listed.  Have you entered the short-term investments?  When entering the summary information into TurboTax Desktop, you followed these steps:

  • At the screen Now, enter one sales total, enter the information.  Continue.
  • Select Add another sales total as necessary.  Continue.
  • You will mail a paper copy of the IRS form 1099-B or IRS form 8949 to the IRS.

Did you select Add another sales total to enter both long-term and short-term investments?

The IRS only wants what is relevant.   If you had no short term transactions, page 1 of Form 8949 is not a part of your tax return.
