Does anyone know how to search or find specific sections of the Forms? I am trying to report an installment sale of stock for which I do not have a 1099. The help topic says the first step is to open my 1040 and search it for the term "installment sale." I am using Premier 2022 off line. I cannot find a way to search any tax forms. When I am using step by step, there is a search box in the upper right, but that only searches help topics. When I switch to the forms view, there is no search box and "Ctrl F" does not seem to do anything.
The Step by Step does not seem to provide a cue to enter an installment sale. It stops at letting me input the basic info about basis, holding period and proceeds of the sale. There are prompts for "uncommon" situations, but none of them seem to include installment sale info.
You'll need to sign in or create an account to connect with an expert.
In Step-by-Step, type "installment sales" (without the quotes) in the Search box, then click the link that says "Jump to installment sales." Note that you have to use the plural sales, not sale. On the first screen, check the box for installment sales. It will then take you through the interview for an installment sale.
There is no way to search the forms in forms mode. If you need to search for text in the forms, create a PDF and use Ctrl-F in Acrobat Reader to search for the text. But if the help topic that you are talking about is How do I report an installment sale in TurboTax?, it's not telling you to search for text in the forms. It says to open "your return," not your 1040 form. That just means working on your return in Step-by-Step, as you normally would. Step 2 tells you to do what I said above, but you have to use the exact search term that it shows, with plural sales.
Yes, however the step-by-step entry is much easier to use for your installment sale. Also you must search for installment sales (plural) if you choose to uses that method. Both will take you to the same place.

Watch to be sure you are selecting 'all time' as example. Do not use selections like 'last hour' for those browsers that give you options.
