I'm not a technical expert on this. I remember part of TurboTax's conversation at the start of a new return it asks you what kinds of forms you have to enter. Perhaps you omitted the 1099-R. It really doesn't matter whether the cause of the form is a death of a parent (or anyone else). It matters that you had income reported on a 1099-R.
For the future, if you need to add info from a form, you can use the "Search" icon in the upper right corner of the screen. Then enter the name of the form in the search text box. In this case you would enter "Form 1099-R". You would then see information about the form. Also, for many forms, there is a "Jump to Form 1099-R" that you could click and be taken to the screens to enter that form. Try it out to see how it works.
I hope this helps.
