I have the same issue as Holly. I can’t print my South Carolina tax return. Even worse, I am filing a Massachusetts part year resident return (we moved to SC in the Spring and I need a copy of my SC returnto fire with my MA return.
is the problem with SC or Turbotax? TurboTax needs to get its act together. Beyond frustrating . . .
I have the same problem as Retired Beach Bum. I filed Federal and SC returns and Fed and SC returns were accepted. Payment to SC was processed by my bank. I can’t print my SC return and get same message about forms as Retired Beach Bum.
Even worse, I can’t file my part year return with MA without my SC return. Nor can I file for a resident real estate tax status.
‘HELP.
I just spent 1 hour plus with a TurboTax expert who was very accommodating and tried EVERYTHING. After consulting with higher ups he gave me the bad news. There is nothing I can do to print a copy of my SC return because the program DIDN’T SAVE IT when it was transmitted to SC. All the information is there, but it won’t save a pdf to my hard drive and won’t print (possibly because SC estimated tax forms aren’t available—although the estimated tax forms for 2024 appear to there in the forms menu. Bottom line, THIS IS A MAJOR CODING PROBLEM
The agent suggested I call SC and ask them to send me a copy of my SC return! What are the odds of that working!
TurboTax needs to fix the problem it created!! What a fiasco.
Joe68,
I agree with you on that. Turbo tax this year has caused me so much headache that I have to go back and check every entry that made because it inputs wrong income from my W2 to start with. I was lucky to find out that it couldn't save or print my SC state tax before I submitted otherwise, I would have a lot more headache..I always saved my taxes and looked over carefully before submitting them. Good luck on getting your tax straight.

To print South Carolina state return after filing 2024:
launch Turbo tax and select "continue" your return
Go to Forms view
Scroll down to state form "Estimated Wks" (this is form SC1040ES)
Scroll to part III (rounding and printing options)
Select " Do not print vouchers"
Click on Print Center at the very top of the screen (Dark gray)
You should be able to print and save as PDF from here.
This post exactly describes my issue with TT and SC tax forms. I've cleaned out cache and restarted PC but as of today 2/10/25 the problem is still there. Sure would be nice to hear from TT about this.
Agree 100%. Got the same canned response over the phone and told the rep I didn't appreciate a canned response. She kept trying to pass off herself as a tech expert. Think Best But would have provided better help. Shame TT is so invisible on this.
Dear Beach Bum -- just noticed the date on your post = 2024. I'm having the same issue this year so how if ever did TT resolve your SC issue? So far what you described last year including your contacts with TT match 100% with my experience this year. Any help will be appreciated.
Same SC problem this year as last year. I see that you replied to my post of a year ago. TurboTax did nothing to help resolve this issue. The fix below worked for me last year and this year. I did my 2024 taxes this past weekend and was shocked problem persisted. Thankfully I saved this fix from 2023 and used it this year and it worked again. I have already copy and pasted this fix into a 2025 folder for next year. Hope this helps.
After Tax Returns have been submitted to Fed & SC State
To save and/or print both Federal & SC state return after filing:
Launch Turbo tax and select "continue" your return
Go to Forms view
Scroll down to SC state form "Estimated Wks" (this is form SC1040ES)
Scroll to part III (rounding and printing options)
Select " Do not print vouchers"
Click on Print Center at the very top of the screen
On "What Forms Would You Like to Generate?
Select "Forms to review or keep..."
Select "Tax Return, Key Calculation Worksheets
You should be able to print and save as PDF
The PDF File Saved/printed will include both Federal & SC State Returns all in one.
Click File Save before exiting program.
If this works for you, copy and past into a folder for next year 2025 taxes. I would be problem will persist for SC from year to year.
Good luck.
Thanks worked as described. Saving for next year JIC.
Many people are having trouble with south Carolina. When is the bug going to be fixed that will give us our forms? I did EVERYTHING that was suggested to fix the problem and it still doesn't work. The firms are all available but turbo tax says they aren't.
It's the estimated payment voucher worksheets that is causing this.
To save and/or print both Federal & SC state return after filing:
There are no SC documents to be updated. If you will pull up the SC Estimated Works form and check box 3d in Part 1 "no estimated" it will eliminate the problem.
