Turbo Tax does not seem to allow a head of household change

I have used TurboTax for more years that I can remember, married filing jointly.  Somewhere along the line it decided that my spouse is the default user. We do not have the same last name, there is no documentation that calls me 'Mrs.' anywhere and it is incredibly irritating to be addressed by his name during the entire process. I called the Turbo Tax help number and it was not something that they were able to change. There is no option that I have found where I might be addressed by my actual name when using this product.

It is depressing in 2021 that even if there *is* an option to do this that it's certainly not one that's easily able to be found.

The program (and the IRS) goes by the first name listed on the tax return.  Or perhaps the TT account is in your spouse's name,

Head of Household is a filing status, used generally by single parents with children.  You are filing Married Joint.

The TurboTax software is gender neutral.  Nor does the software use the terms Mrs., Mr. or Miss.

The software does not decide who is listed first on the tax return.  That is totally determined by the user of the software.

When the filing status is Married Filing Jointly, where necessary the software will use the First Name of the taxpayer listed first on the tax return.  Other times it will use the First Name of the spouse listed second on the tax return.

Thank you for the reply.

Yes, I am filing Married, Filing Jointly.  It was my error to assume that someone would have been designated as Head of Household.

I have never seen it use my name unless the software is asking very specific things of me (update W-2s for example).  This is up to and including when I was asked for payment information to file the taxes.  It defaulted to his name.

Edit:  I missed where you said "The software does not decide who is listed first on the tax return.  That is totally determined by the user of the software."  I set up the software.  Every single time I have filed my taxes it still lists his information first.
