Turbo Tax Desktop 2024 State Defaulting to Wrong State?

I apologize if this has been answered, bit I was unable to find it?

I have TT 2024 downloaded & installed on my desktop. I purchased 2 TT Deluxe Federal + State from Costco, one for us and one for our daughter. We live in MN and she lives in ND.

We finalized and submitted our taxes about a month ago using one of the license keys. I added the second license key to TT for our daughter's account thinking it would allow me to add ND as the state, but it keeps defaulting to MN and want's me to pay an additional $45 for ND even though I already paid for the TT Deluxe with state.

I guess my question is, how do I get her account to associate with ND and not MN?

You did not need a second Deluxe license key.   The same desktop download software you purchased and used for your own return could be used to prepare your daughter's return.  All you needed to do was indicate in Personal Info that she earned money in that other state, and you could have added the download for that second different state to the software that is already on your computer.   See if they will give you a refund for that second license key and walk you though how to download the second state---it should cost about $40 download a second different state to your existing software.
