Filing taxes - TT says the TIN on my one 1099 is invalid, and therefore will not e-file. Of course, TT told me this after I paid for two state tax return filings for $25/pop. TIN format is XX-XXXXXXX. 9 digits, as it's supposed to be. I google this client's TIN and Google verifies, same answer. I am trying to contact the client to verify TIN, but I'm sure what the answer will be. What does TT not like about this genuine number? How do I work around this so I can e-file. Amazing product until it refuses to do something & doesn't give you a clue how to fix it. Best course of action is to Ask the Community. Unfortunately, no one is answering.

Please try to follow the instructions here to delete the 1099, and then add the 1099 again to the return. As this may resolve the issue.
Please let us know if you need further assistance. @paddams
I thought I posted this - TT crashed. When I opened it again the 1099 wasn't an issue. Taxes filed and accepted. Thanks. This community forum seems the only place to get help!
