If you want total income before adjustments, it is on line 7b of form 1040. If you want the income after adjustments which is adjusted gross income, it is on line 9b. For many filers total income and adjusted gross income are the same.

To get back into your return after printing or e-filing, please follow these steps:
1. In TurboTax Online, sign into your account.
2. Select Tax Home in the left menu.
3. Scroll down to Your tax returns & documents.
4. Select 2019, and then select Add a State (You're not actually adding a state, this just gets you into the right menu).
5. Once you're in your return you can navigate around as usual.

The term "net income" does not exist on the personal income tax form 1040.

Line 7b is your total income

Line 8b is your Adjusted Gross Income (AGI)

Line 11b is your Taxable income (after all deductions and adjustments)

For Schedule C, self employment (sole proprietorship), the IRS uses the term Net Profit.   But  that's the same as net income, for the self employed.

For W-2 wage earners, net income is after all deductions.  But  the unemployment office doesn't usually want that amount, it wants your gross wages, before deductions.
