I really wasn't sure how to phrase or ask this, but I was doing my taxes, and I realized I chose the wrong file from last year. (I did my taxes based on both standardized deduction and itemizing last year). Is there any way to get the data I have put in (I am almost finished with the federal return), so I don't have to start completely over if I want to use the correct return from last year, so I have all the correct comparisons?
Thanks.

Can you please clarify what file you chose for last year?
Did you file an incorrect form?
If you need to access your return from 2020, please see this TurboTax help article: How do I access a prior-year return?
Hi,
I did not choose or file an incorrect form last year.
Each year since the Trump administration changed taxes, I do my taxes both itemizing and taking a standard deduction. Since taxes were changed... I get more from Federal and less from state when I do a standard deduction and more back from state, and less from Federal when I do itemized deductions, but I still do both to see which turns out better, and file the ones that turn out better. So this year (for 2021 taxes) when I went to start doing my taxes, I accidentally chose the file (from 2020 taxes) using the standard deduction instead of the itemized deductions to transfer information to this year. The correct one that I actually filed with the state and IRS (From 2020 taxes) is the itemized return. It's not that big of a deal. I changed the few incorrect numbers (the refunds) so this year is still correct. I have not filed this year yet, though.
But when turbotax does comparison's from last years taxes to this years, lasts years numbers aren't correct because the wrong file from last year to start with. I will go back and redo it, but I was hoping there would be a way to save all the data I entered from this year, so I don't have to re-input everything.
Sorry you can only transfer once at the beginning. So you would need to start over with a new blank return to transfer from the other 2020 file. Go up to File-New.
