Transfer tax return from Windows 11 PC to Mac

After the inability to download and open TurboTax 2025 on my recently purchased Windows 11 PC (numerous support calls, hours spent talking to agents, hours on hold), I gave up and decided to download TT 25 to my Mac (I have used TT for 10-12 years). 

I was able to open TT 2025 on my Mac. Then I successfully transferred my 2024 from my PC to my Mac and it opened and used those records. Unfortunately, at the point I decided to "Save" my return, the file immediately went to a "Shared" window with very few options highlighted. There was no way to save the document or even to scroll down - almost as if frozen. I shut down my computer and reopened, having the same result. After dealing with a support agent (who couldn't solve the problem), I discovered I can start and save a new return, but it requires typing in all the information (instead of using the previous return). 

Has anyone else had this problem or would know why it wants to share and locks up? Very frustrating. Hours spent on both PC and Mac. Makes no sense to me. Thanks for any help.

I'm having the same problem saving with Mac.  It won't save, with or without a password.

Glad to hear it isn't just me. I transferred last year's tax return from a PC and thought that might have something to do with it. I was able to begin a new return and have been able to save it so far, but frustrating since I am required to type in all the information again.

 

When I try to save, it asks for a password and to answer a security question. It refers to a dialog box being open, which I am unable to see, but I can't scroll down. It is as if the screen is frozen. The only option in the menu to the left is to "Share" which is odd. Just wondered if that is how yours responded.

 

Probably a bug in the software. Very frustrating.
