To upload last years *.tax2023 file, the help says to go find the file option in the navigation menu. So, where is the navigation menu? I see "Tax Home" and "Documents".

To upload last year's taxfile, please review the TurboTax Help articles Can I transfer last year’s PDF to 2024 TurboTax for Windows CD/Download software?  and Transfer last year's return to 2024 TurboTax for Windows.  If you are using a Mac, please review the TurboTax Help article Can I transfer last year's PDF to 2024 TurboTax for Mac?

Which version of TurboTax do you want to use for your 2024 return--Online TurboTax (browser version) or the desktop version (installed software)?    By mentioning "Tax Home" and "Documents", it sounds like you are currently in Online TurboTax, while your mention of the File menu sounds like you are following instructions for the desktop version, which is NOT how it's done in the Online version.

If you purchased 2024 desktop software, and are trying to use Online TurboTax, you are using the wrong product.   If you want to use Online TurboTax for 2024, that's OK, but just checking to be sure we're all on the same wavelength.

If you used desktop software for 2023, but want to use Online TurboTax for 2024, we can tell you how to transfer the *.tax2023 data file from your computer into the 2024 Online product.
