Yesterday in the mail I received two separate envelopes from the title company. They both had an identical 1099S for a rental we sold in 2022. There is no way to identify that they are a duplicates. I will call the title company about this today. I assume the IRS will also be getting two copies. If the title company tells me to just ignore it how can I be sure the IRS does not think I made two sales for the same price. How should I handle this?

As long as the address of the property sold is listed on both forms, the IRS should know that you did not sell two different properties.
