This year every time I log back into to look at my return that was reviewed by Turbo as ready to submit previously, Turbo tax finds something new that needs review?

If you are using TurboTax Desktop, you can manually update your software using these instructions.

If that does not resolve the message, please comment back with the specific message you are receiving so we can assist.

Thanks for the reply.  I'm using the online version of Turbo Tax.  Specifically, this happened when logging back into Turbo Tax after each the previous session ended with ready to submit the return status:

1st log in: proceeded through Turbo Tax entering this year's tax info.  Logged out with the return in a ready to submit status.  I reviewed the federal and state returns off-line: everything looked good.

2nd log in: Turbo Tax duplicated several mutual fund 1099-Div. I removed the duplicates, confirmed the original 1099-DIV entries, and took the return to ready to submit status and reviewed the returns again off-line.

Next log in: This time Turbo tax called for a review of two 1099-R entries.  I answered a question for each 1099-R that was not asked when I originally entered the 1099-R's. I logged out with the return ready to submit status.

Next log in: Turbo Tax had me review one of the 1099-R again for essentially the same question but this time in a worksheet format.  This time I submitted the return.

This has harmed my confidence in using Turbo Tax to generate a complete return.  I presume this experience was a software issue and not a tactic to up-sell the user.

Thank you for the update and confirmation you were able to submit your tax return.

It may simply have been the background pieces of data so this is simply for future reference when using TurboTax Online or for many other online experiences.

In this type of situation, first please try clearing the cookies and cache.   It handles many issues that seem nonsensical on a regular basis with online activity.

  • Close your TurboTax return first.

Watch to be sure you are selecting 'all time' as example.  Do not use selections like 'last hour' for those browsers that give  you options.

Once this is complete open your return and try again.
