This month, 3/2017 I will begin earning self-employment income and wanted to figure out quarterly tax payments

My husband already filed our 2016 taxes jointly. I just need to begin quarterly payments for the year 2017 so I don't end up indebted to the IRS next year.

TurboTax has a nice worksheet calculator for estimating 2017 income and preparing the 1040-ES (estimated tax) voucher amounts for the 4 quarters of the tax year.

You can access it by clicking on the Federal Taxes tab (or Personal in TurboTax Self-Employed), then click on Other Tax Situations and scroll down to Other Tax Forms.  Then select Form W-4 and estimated taxes.  The first question will refer to a W-4 form, and you can answer "no."

Then you'll be asked Do you want to review your income and deductions? and you'll click Review Now, which will initiate the various screens you can use to estimate income and generate the quarterly vouchers.  Just follow the prompts.
