My employer pays the part of my spouse's health insurance. That part of the money should not be taxable income. However, I made a mistake and gave the wrong info when I enrolled in my health benefit, which causes the money that covers my spouse's health insurance to become taxable income. How could I fix this issue to get the money back? Thanks

How was this money reported? Was it on your W-2? Was this on a 1099-R?
We have to know how this was reported on your tax return in order to be able to help you.
Also, have you e-filed your return already?
Hi,
Yes, It should be in W-2, because I can see the money got taxed in my paystubs.
No, I am still working on it and haven't e-filed the return.
Thanks,
henry
If your employer paid health insurance premiums for your spouse, they should not have been taxable. The insurance premiums would be reported on your W-2 form, in box 12 with the code "DD". If this is so, then they are not taxable.
So I am curious, where is the taxable income being reported on your W-2 form?
Thanks for your reply. Here is box 12 on my W2. Could you help me verify it. Thanks.
The Box 12 code DD is informational only ... it doesn't mean the premiums were taxable.
