The 1099 NECs that I just e filed to the IRS for my independent contractors got rejected. The email from Turbo Tax says "The forms were rejected for the following reason:

I've been getting the same error message, and the info on my forms is 100% correct, identical to those filed thru TurboTax last year. After trying the support line 3 times, no one has really attempted to fix the problem, although they've acknowledged that my completed forms look correct. I've just been told to try deleting the orig inputs completely and creating new 1099s from scratch. Very frustrating and quite a letdown from TurboTax customer service. Hope maybe this will prompt some kind of action on their part.
The IRS has finally opened up for electronic filing as of today. If you are certain that your information is correct then I would attempt to re-send it today.
Appreciate the additional advice. Just tried submitting them for the 4th time, rejected once more.
I think that if the IRS keeps rejecting your 1099s that it is time to print them and mail them. They have to be postmarked by tomorrow in order to be considered on time. If you are certain that all of the information is correct and the error code isn't helping you then it's time to print them.
Make sure to get the copies to your contractors by tomorrow as well.
Same problem here. Today, the IRS rejected my 1099-NEC submitted through Quick Employer Forms. Now the form is past due. What should I do?
Keep in mind that the 1099-NEC for this same contractor, with the same information, was accepted last year with out a problem.
In the past few weeks, I have adjusted and resubmitted 3 times in an effort to "correct" but it didn't work.
Btw, you CANNOT print and snail-mail from Quick Employer Forms. Their printed version does not include Copy A.
Any idea? Turbotax staff? (Already spoke to your customer service... they knew less than I did!)
Weirdly copy A isn't scannable for the IRS. It's an efile only kind of thing. So if you are mailing in the forms then print the 1096 and the copy B or any other copy and mail them to the service. Sooner is better. They are aware of issues with the system and there are unlikely to be any late penalties at this point.
