The first time I went through sales tax, I didn't have my large expenditure information available. It doesn't allow me to go back and enter. Can anyone tell me how?

Here's how you can navigate to the sales tax entry in TurboTax Online to make a manual adjustment to the sales tax expense:

1. Navigate to Federal > Deductions & Credits > Estimates and Other Taxes Paid > Sales Tax > Start or Revisit
2. TurboTax will prepare a comparison of sales tax and state and local tax.  You can choose to "try the sales tax deduction anyway" at this step if it is lower.
3. Choose "Enter all my receipts" and then you can manually enter the sales tax.

If you're itemizing, you must choose between deducting your state and local income taxes or your state and local sales taxes. You can't claim both.
