The Army overpaid me last year, then collected that payment back as a debt and issued a tax adjustment certificate. How do I enter that on my taxes?

You would either take it as an itemized deduction or a refundable credit..

1. Go to Deductions and Credits
2. Down arrow on  Other Deductions and Credits
3. Next to Other Deductible Expenses select Start
4. Select No on the Generation Skipping Taxes
5. if you paid less than $3000, then select yes on next page..if you paid more, select no and then select yes on the following screen
6. Enter the amount in claim of right repayment
