Relocated in last week of Dec 2017 and was paid 10000 for relocation. Reported this in 2017 taxes. See this amount included in 2018 W2. How do I avoid paying tax twice?

I checked with my employer and was told as this was paid after Nov 21 which was the deadline for reporting relocation expense, this got reported next year.

The amount is taxable in the year received, not the year you moved, if they are different.  If you received the payment in 2017, it should have been included on your 2017 Form W-2, and included on your 2017 tax return.  If you received the payment in 2018, and it was reported on your 2018 Form W-2, then it should be included on your 2018 tax return.  If you reported on your 2017 tax return, the you will need to file an Amended 2017 tax return to avoid being taxed twice.  If your company paid you in 2017 but reported it in 2018, and you included on your 2017 return, then they made an error.  You would need them to correct your 2017 and 2018 tax returns for it to be properly reported.  Or you could file an Amended 2017 return, which is probably easier than getting them to change two years of W-2s.

I moved in 2017 and was paid in 2017. I reported this amount in my 2017 taxes. But the amount is now included in my 2018 taxes too. My company refuses to correct this mistake. So should I amend my 2017 taxes to take out the amount reported and file 2018 taxes normally?

Your alternatives are pay double tax or go to battle with your employer.  If it were me I would just file an amended return, but also let my company know the inconvenience they caused.

I wanted to check if this guidance applied to me?<a rel="nofollow" target="_blank" href="https://www.forbes.com/sites/kellyphillipserb/2018/09/24/irs-confirms-2018-reimbursements-for-2017-m...>

I moved in 2017 but was reimbursed for it in 2018.
So can I file a amended return for 2017 by taking out both the reported $10,000 and my expenses?
And then I plan on taking a normal deduction of moving expenses in 2018 tax return as the move happened in 2017?

The only thing you can do  for 2018 is pay tax on the money you were paid.  I would file an amended return to remove the moving reimbursement for 2017.
