How do I create a 1099 misc in Turbotax Business 2018? I want to create it locally on my PC using TT Business 2018 instead of online at Quick Employer Forms. Thanks.

I think I saw the option once but don't see it now and wonder if it was removed after I updated the software.

To create 1099-MISC forms in TurboTax Business, you'll need to go back to the initial opening screen, which appears when you first launch the program.

1. Open TurboTax Business.  [Note: If you already have a tax return open, choose New Tax Return from the TurboTax File menu. Click Yes to save the return you currently have open.]
2. On the Work on a Tax Return screen, click the blue Prepare W-2/1099 button near the bottom. [Screenshot #1]
   
3. On the next screen, Choose where to prepare your forms, click the Choose Desktop box.
4. If you prepared forms last year using TurboTax Business, you will see a screen, Let's Get a Jump-Start on Your 2018 Taxes.  [Screenshot #2]
5. You can select the desired return to transfer information for 2018 forms and then click Transfer Returns.
6. If you don't want to transfer information from last year, click the box Continue without Transferring.
   
7. Follow the on-screen instructions.

Thanks for that response. I don't know why that answer isn't available in the software itself. In fact, I don't know why they removed the F1 in-software Help system at all except so that Intuit developers have less work to do. This is going backwards.
