The tax amount Turbo Tax put on line 28 of Form 1040A is not the tax amount the Tax Table indicates. Why?
Taxes are calculated according to the type of income and the tax tables are not used much of the time. For example, any qualified dividends or capital gains are taxed at a different rate then ordinary income. Tax n line 28 can also include AMT.
