Tax Year Prior to 2020: Is the federal tax return always greater than the state tax return?

I need to enter the state refund I received last year but I am not sure which one is my federal or state refund. Should I enter both amounts?

No, it's not always greater.  Also, you don't want to enter both amounts.  You only need to enter your state tax refund if you itemized deductions on Schedule A in 2015.  If you aren't sure, perhaps you can view your prior year tax returns.  Or, you can look at your bank deposits for the approximate dates you would have received your refunds.  The one for federal would likely say IRS Treasury Department or similar words if you had direct deposit.
