Tax Refund

I see on IRS website that my tax refund has been sent since last week. It still has not been deposited into my account. How long after IRS sends the refund should I expect it to be transferred to my account.

Your financial institution may take one or two business days to post to your bank account. After five business days, you should initiate a trace on your refund.

To initiate a refund trace:

• Call the IRS at 800-829-1954 800-829-1954 (toll-free) and either use the automated system or speak with an agent.

• However, if you filed a married filing jointly return, you can’t initiate a trace using the automated systems. Download and complete the Form 3911 or the IRS can send you a Form 3911 to get the replacement process started.

call your bank and they will tell you if any IRS transaction was reversed or rejected.
