Supplemental Details Only in Forms Mode?

Why is it that last year I could double click or right click an input field (specifically in 1099-DIV screens for mutual funds) in "walk me" screens, and the Supplemental Details menu would open, but this year I have to bounce back and forth to forms mode? But when you return from forms mode it doesn't return to the input field.

In addition, previous versions kept information that was in the SD menu, and you could update it. But now, most of that is lost. Why doesn't it get easier and better each year?
