Supervisors aren't returning calls

I’ve paying for inaccurate tax preparations for years. On January 23, 2026, I logged unto turbotax online to do my taxes. I’ve been doing my taxes with them for more than a decade. The problem section everyone stumbles with is “Home Energy Credits”

 

In February 2024, I called and questioned about this section for my 2023 filing, the tax expert fumbled around on their site with me for almost 3 hours, so at the end of that call, I had 20% confidence she knew what she was doing.  In 2024, I was weak because  was hospitalized for 2 weeks prior to filing, in 2024. The so called tax expert told me that I didn’t qualify for the “Home Energy Credits”; I told her that was not correct; I was too weak to explain to her how this “Home Energy Credits” was a multi-year tax credit. She was on the phone with me for an hour so I guess she was too tired to understand the “Home Energy Credits” so therefore I didn’t qualify, no matter what I said.

 

I’ve been explaining that for the government, we have to complete form 5695, which has a page of instructions and few people understand these instructions. Question 12 from this form has a number that has to be carried forward to the next year 2022, 2023, 2024, 2025 and so forth. For the state of New Mexico, they send you a certificate which validates that I’ve successfully completed the process of qualifying for the solar energy tax credit.

 

This year, I began the same process with an Erica, January 23rd, 2026. She too fumbled around for an hour until I requested a supervisor; which was Monica. After being on the phone for 45 minutes she said she’d research the problem and call me back. She never did.

 

I called back January 24rd, 2026 fumbled with this section again with Kevin another so-called tax expert; after about two hours of fumbling I asked to speak to a supervisor; I was connected to Alishia.

 

I explained the problem statement clearly: I didn’t know how to accurately complete form 5695; question 12 has a number that is carried forward. I explained that we’d have to redo or refile 2024 because I was told I didn’t qualify for the Home Energy Credits; that was not true. I also told Alishia, that I had a certificate from the state of New Mexico and no-one was sure on how to apply the information from the certificate to “Home Energy Credits” section of their online website.

 

Alishia told me she would do some research on how to accurately complete form 5695 and the certificate from the state of New Mexico; she said she’d call me back and never did. NO ONE is honoring their promise of calling me back. I’ve paying for inaccurate tax preparations for years.
