Question

Still broken!

I've tried several times to delete and re-enter 1099-Q.  I do NOT have a Portland ARTS form.  I've already paid for state e-filing, otherwise I would just go ahead and paper file.  Why did I pay for this if it doesn't work??

You can try the following instructions to resolve your problem associated with your 1099-Q.

You need to delete the Oregon "Arts Tax" worksheet that the software erroneously created.  When you enter a 1099-Q (Education Distribution), the program's Oregon state module sometimes looks for the Portland Arts Tax.

    Delete forms Online:

    1. Open or continue your return.
    2. Click on Tax Tools, then Tools (left-hand bottom)
    3. Click on Delete a Form.
    4. Delete anything related to Portland Arts or Oregon Arts Education, and confirm.

Note: The IRS does not require you to report a 1099-Q on your return if the distribution is non-taxable (used entirely for qualified education expenses like tuition, books, room & board).

If you've already confirmed the money went to school costs, you can simply delete the 1099-Q entry entirely and leave it off the return.

Please let us know if this doesn't work, and we may have other options for you to try.

That didn't help.  I'm going to have to redo my taxes in H&R Block.  How do I get a refund?
