State Tax refund

After I filed Federal and State, getting a Federal refund but having to pay MD taxes,  I just got a check

in the mail for $500 from State of MD which surprised the heck out of me.  Why didn't Turbotax know about this??

What is seen in TurboTax during filing is just an estimate of your total return. Your state's department of revenue would ultimately know your refund amount after reviewing your return and making any necessary adjustments. Glad you have received a surprise refund.
