state tax owed not affected by any deductions/credits

I know I mentioned this before - but no clue how to find that previous post.

I'm very worried that there's something wrong with turbotax 2024, first I could not activate it for over a week,

then after an update it activated ok, but I could not download state (CA) for several days...

The last straw is after entering a bunch of deductions/expenses etc, the state owed amount had not changed at all - I've never seen that before. I figured there's a bug, waited a week - relaunched turbotax - installed the updates, but the state owed is still the same (it's a *lot* and not credible).

I've used turbotax for over 20 years, I normally don't start until mid-March, so perhaps I just need to wait for all the bugs to get sorted... or I need to give up and find a CPA.
