Turbotax Premier desktop. Live in WA where there is no income tax and wanting to file CA nonresident return. Turbotax is refusing to let me get rid of the WA permanently. I remove it and it comes back. CA should be the only state return and should be my "free" state. I can't even get to the CA return without it asking for a $45 fee. I will print and mail rather than pay $45 efile fee but can't even get pass that. Help please.

WA has no state tax but WA actually has a couple of credits that can be claimed this year by filing. The program will hold information it deems important. Since you have the desktop version, you can take a look at the WA form and see if you qualify for credits.
As for CA, you can contact support and tell them you wanted the CA not WA. We don't handle financial issues here in the community, just answer tax questions.
If you do need to mail in your return, be sure to sign and date then mail with tracking, no signature required.
